Synopsis

This landmark series tells the life story of one of the most influential modern Orthodox figures, Saint Paisios of Mount Athos. Born Arsenios in Cappadocia in 1924, he and his family endured forced relocation to Greece, surviving hardship before settling in Konitsa. Deeply spiritual from a young age, Arsenios served in the Greek Army during WWII and later followed his calling to Mount Athos, where he became a monk and received the name Paisios.

Across his years in Mount Athos, Epirus, and the Sinai Desert, Paisios devoted himself to rigorous ascetic life, compassion, and spiritual guidance. From the mid-1950s until his death in 1994, thousands sought him out, attributing countless miracles to him. Canonized in 2015, he remains one of the most beloved modern saints of the Orthodox Church.
