Synopsis

Set in present-day Ioannina, Taboo begins with the discovery of a body in the icy waters of the lake. As a group of university students uncovers clues and the Kartalis family’s only daughter returns to her hometown, the mystery draws their lives into an increasingly dangerous web of suspicion, fear and betrayal.

Surrounded by trusted friends and sworn enemies, the Kartalis siblings face the consequences of a father’s abuse and the desperate act committed to protect their sister. Meanwhile, the students navigate love, friendship and desire, unaware of how closely their discoveries connect them to the family’s history. As the truth emerges, guilt clouds motives and loyalty complicates the search for answers.
